TESTIMONIALS

Chelsi Stancil

I started with Make It Happen the first year it began. I was  soon cast as Josephine Baker in the production,Extraordinary  Americans Who Happen to be. ..Not only did I act but I danced and even choreographed the final dance piece! This was a life changing moment in my life. It helped me to decide that my college major would be in theatre! I thought that if I can do this for the rest of my life I would be one of the happiest persons in the world. MIH  taught me so much about myself and gave me so many opportunities . I was so sure after  that first performance that I didn’t want to do anything else. With this program I met so many people and made so many connections. We built a bond. I am grateful for the experiences and connections that I have made through Make it Happen. I know that if it was that great years ago, I can’t imagine how it is now.

Chelsi is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Fine Arts at the University of Florida.

Make it Happen has helped me to become the person that I am today. When I was younger I was very shy and introverted. I didn’t believe in my ability as an Actor. Make it Happen helped me to blossom into the outgoing happy person I am now. This is a great program. It has opened many opportunities for me which includes the workshop intensive classes I took with Broadway Director Dave Clemmons and the numerous shows we put on all around the city. For anyone wanting to be apart of a great program and meet wonderful people this is where you want to be.

Chelsi will graduate from Lawson State this spring.

I can honestly say that when I worked with Make It Happen it was a learning experience that was needed in my life. The program  prepared me for my future in theatre and was a big help when I was in  high school. It was one of the few times in my life when I actually enjoyed learning about history.  It helped me excel in my history class, especially during the month of February! As for my future, it helped me because I got to see how the theatre world worked in it’s entirety. As a result of the program being such a great experience for me, I suggest MIH to high school students that are interested in the performing arts. With Make It Happen you learn about theatre, meet great people and you work an awesome staff  that cares.
